Default help on character builds

I'm new to GW and trying to find the best builds for my characters. In the search, I came across a character builder at www.gw.guildlord.com. It looks like a new site....has anyone here tried it out? It looks like you can import the build directly into the game.

I advise against using 3rd party programs, usually they contain keyloggers. You can find a list of builds here. This site also gives the templates for these builds. You just have to save them in a text file and putt them in the template directory in your Guild Wars folder. The way to do this is also explained on the official guild wars website.

Really, at this point you don't need a character builder program. Those are generally used for experienced people that know the game mechanics and like to create their own builds. These programs don't come with premade builds, forcing you to make your own one which is pretty difficult if you don't know a whole lot about the game.

I'm going to second the motion by tijo to check out that guildwiki link. There are quite a few good builds in there, and even if you don't have all the skills, it will help you see which skills work well together, and will help you put together an ad hoc build until you get the skills you need.

GuildWiki is the way to go they test all builds, and also if you have questions on pretty much anything it is there. From maps to mission hints to finding skills etc...

experiment with your own builds if you are new. but do take advice from other players when they comment on your build
